This Is Why My Current Most Treasured Skincare Product Is The Bomb

Chelsea Graziano • Apr 01, 2021

This product has made the most visible difference Ive EVER seen.

I’ve always been into skincare, from learning all about facials and skin science at college to trying out every brand I could get my hands on. This likely wasn’t many, since although I held down a pretty full-on part-time job whilst studying, I was being paid peanuts. After studying for the next 4 years and finding a better side hustle, I was able to get my hands on more luxury brands - and at a discount. So it's fair to say I've tried each end of the spectrum when it comes to beauty goods.

From ‘Creme de la mer’ to 'Simple' and every brand in between. I think the best and also most accessible skincare products are the ones popping up in these more recent years, and, I’m fortunate enough now, 13 years later, to have beauty packages posted for me to review, giving me the chance to spend time with new products and see how they work overtime.

There have been so many medalist-worthy items I’ve discovered - I will add a list of these on a future post soon. But what works for me at one stage in my life, may not necessarily bring the same loving skin support at another. Our skin changes just as our lifestyle and environment do, and being in tune and aware of that is salutary.

The stage I’m at now. Currently, I’m a new mum - navigating what feels like a new world (since a global pandemic hit which we would never have seen coming) after having my beautiful baby boy 8 months ago. I’ve missed out on a lot of sleep this past year if you count the third trimester of my pregnancy with never-ending trips to the loo in the night. So at present, my skin needs life and rejuvenation.

I have pretty dark under eyes as you can imagine (when I finally get my hands on a decent enough camera I will show you.. or maybe I will share on an Instagram story - so I can use my iPhone, and so it’s not online forever), I also seem to have developed uneven pigmentation. I'm not sure if it’s always been that way or if it’s worsened as of late. Either way, these two skin issues alone are new to me, and so the products that are my absolute anchor to looking less corpse-like are also new. Because of this, I'm even more invested in sourcing the best products which is why it naturally feels right to share my conclusions. Although I must mention, these are recommendations that have worked for me, and I know we all have our preferences.

There is one product I feel is certainly making the most visible difference and bringing with it a little boost of confidence all for me and that is the First Aid Beauty - Eye Duty Eye Cream. I will happily have plenty of makeup-free days with this shield under my eyes. It positively brightens my skin (and life) and looks and feels fantastic. The key ingredients in this product are impressive - I will explain what they do a little further on. But first a little bit about the product and brand.

First Aid Beauty is a PETA-certified cruelty-free brand and all of their products are fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin. They have an outstanding range of skincare and within that, lives the eye cream of dreams. This peachy-toned illuminating eye cream gives the appearance of youthful and glowing skin, and its warm undertone means it is designed to work on all skin tones. It's totally accessible, which is always important to me - at a reasonable price of £24. Let's be honest, it's not like a wardrobe item where a good designer investment lasts the next ten-plus years. It runs out. And although it's easy and often tempting to be dazzled by the luxury brands promising to make all of life so wonderful with a magical bottled-up elixir of diamond dust (this is actually a real thing), I don't believe one bit that it has to be so expensive. Nor do I believe that diamond dust is needed under the human eye.

It has a remarkable formula of key ingredients which are as follows;
Sodium Hyaluronate - This is what hydrates, smooths, and plumps the skin
Niacinamide - This evens out pigmentation and I saw this result within just a few weeks of using this cream.
Pumpkin Seed Extract and Caffeine - these reduce blue circles and puffiness.

So, after reaching a point with my skin where I need all the nourishment I can get - this product is my best discovery and my current most TREASURED skincare item. Who needs sleep anyway?
