3 Key Spring 2021 Beauty Trends

Want ideas on how to paint your face for the coming strut out of lockdown?

As I've mentioned before, my love for the Spring season lies in all its fresh-start 'feels' and unburdening of the heaviness in our lives. From decluttering our homes, gardens and wardrobes... to adjusting our diets, to skin-care products and makeup. It's out with the old and in with the new.

There are set to be some new trend changes in the way we wish to carry ourselves out of the pandemic and into our new beginning. There have been so many drastic changes to our lifestyles that have influenced what's trending for the coming months. We've all been going for our daily walks, appreciating and connecting to nature more than before, lounging around our homes (and getting really good at it), and with that, making our homes more functional as well as adding luxury in the areas where we appreciate the finer things. It's fair to say there has been a mass 'mindset shift' since we've all had the opportunity to reconsider, reflect, and realise our true values as individuals and as one.

Evidently, there's a visible 'we just got through a global pandemic' mark in art form from some designers at fashion week/s and so of course, changes are filtering into the world of beauty too. If I had to put my interpretation of the overall vibe of trends this coming season into one word, it would be Power.

Power in embracing real skin, toning down on all the strong cover-up products, and manipulating eye shapes with a softer touch. Power in embracing who we are and what we are capable of, but also power in a bold sense. Bold blues, bold blush (also much higher on the cheeks.. hello 80's, are you attempting to make a come-back?), and bold shapes on our eyes (since we are half covered in masks these days). Makeup is moving in a more expressive direction and I love it! After researching my way through shows and magazines, I've broken down three of my favourite predicted trends below:

Strong Eye Game - Whether it's a bold shape, shadow, or even a colour lash. Get some colour on there and dont feel confined to the classic liner shapes only
Blush - Turned up, brighter and more balanced across the whole face- for an all-over healthy flush.
Real Skin - reflecting health (again) and wellness, minimal products, and a fresh finish. My kind of skin

I look forward to creating makeup looks, heading in this new light, fun, and fierce direction, and look forward to sharing my looks with you soon.

X
